Our Culture of Teamwork
Husband and wife team, Dr. Eric Tuggle, a double board certified facial cosmetic and oral maxillofacial surgeon, and Tonya Tuggle, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, opened their initial med spa, Sandia Skin + Face in 2018, after operating their surgical practice, Sandia Oral Surgery since 2009. Their newest teamwork endeavor is Skin + Face Phoenix, Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics serving patients in the greater Phoenix area.
This unique dynamic of having both surgical solutions and less invasive solutions at the patients’ disposal is what makes our outcomes and patient satisfaction superior to other traditional med spa only or plastic surgery only environments. With Skin + Face Phoenix, patients receive a comprehensive treatment plan with many options. Whether its laser resurfacing, lip fillers, Botox, or facial cosmetic surgery, the patient has all the options on the table and will be presented with a variety of these options to maximize aesthetic outcomes.
As a company, we enjoy working together to maximize aesthetic outcomes. We take pleasure in tapping into each other’s expertise in achieving excellent results to increase our patients’ confidence and presentation. We love hiring the best and training and educating our team of PA’s, NP’s, estheticians and surgical assistants so that our patients are supported by competent hands. Meet
Our Team
Tonya C. Tuggle
Tonya is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been practicing in aesthetic medicine since 2018. Dr. Tuggle and Tonya, married in 2000, have being working together since opening his surgical practice in 2009. Tonya initially graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2001 and practiced as a CPA for several years. In 2018, after having her own medical problems, she pursued a career in medicine with the intent of becoming a nurse practitioner specializing in endocrinology. She went to nursing school and nurse pracititoner school, graduating from Simmons University in 2021.
During this education, she opened her first med spa and found it fulfilling to provide patients excellent outcomes and improve their overall confidence and presentation. After realizing her skills and competence aligned in successful patient outcomes and patient satisfaction in the aesthetic space, she has constantly pursued excellence aesthetics.
For the past 3 years she has been named a Top 10 Allergan account for Botox and Juvederm providers in New Mexico and she and Dr. Tuggle are KOLs (trainers) for Sciton laser company. She offers training sessions to peers for lasers and injectables like Botox and lip fillers.
Tonya and Eric have three daughters and attend Calvary Church. In her free time she likes to hike, play tennis and pickleball, ski, read, eat and travel.
Dr. Eric Tuggle
Dr. Eric Tuggle is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is Arizona’s only Double Board Certified Facial Cosmetic Surgeon. Dr. Tuggle and his wife Tonya both attended Abilene Christian University. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Oklahoma in 2005, then began specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. He served as Chief Resident and completed residency in 2009. He and his family located to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2009.
He is Double Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the New Mexico/ Arizona Dental Association. Dr. Tuggle offers a wide range of facial surgery services with a special interest in facial cosmetic surgery. A true “Girl Dad”, he and Tonya have 3 beautiful daughters. He is an avid pilot, tennis player, and the family is active in their local church, Calvary Chapel.

Jolene Punches is our Office Manager for our newest location in Phoenix. She has been in the aesthetics industry for 15 years. Jolene loves to learn about the newest advancements within the industry and enjoys educating patients as well. In addition, she is a certified freelance makeup artist. She has a passion for creating relationships with patients to help them look and feel their best. In her free time she enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and furbabies.
