Our Culture of Teamwork
Husband and wife team, Dr. Eric Tuggle—an oral, maxillofacial, and cosmetic facial surgeon—and Tonya Tuggle, a certified nurse practitioner, opened Sandia Skin + Face Med Spa in 2018 after operating Sandia Oral & Cosmetic Facial Surgery since 2009. The med spa has been synergistic with facial surgery and offers a seamless team to assist patients in maximizing aesthetic outcomes.
Often, each patient’s unique needs require a multiple-modality approach. Whether it’s laser resurfacing, injectables such as neurotoxins and fillers, medical weight loss, or cosmetic facial surgery, we have the ability to help patients enhance their aesthetic results by offering both non-invasive and invasive treatment options.

Meet
Our Team
Tonya C. Tuggle
Tonya is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She started Sandia Skin + Face Med Spa in 2018 with her husband of 24 years, Dr. Eric Tuggle, a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Cosmetic Facial Surgeon. She first received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Abilene Christian University and practiced as a CPA for several years. In 2018, she graduated from CNM and became a Registered Nurse. In 2021, she graduated from Simmons University as a board-certified Nurse Practitioner.
She has been practicing in medical aesthetics for over six years and has an eye for maximizing aesthetic outcomes for patients. For the past two years, she has been named Top 10 in the state of New Mexico for Botox and Juvederm providers, and she was named the top Sciton laser provider in the state. She offers training sessions for peers in lasers and injections such as neurotoxins and dermal fillers.
Tonya and Eric have three daughters and attend Calvary Church. In her free time, Tonya enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, skiing, running, reading, and hanging out with her family.
Dr. Eric Tuggle
Dr. Eric Tuggle is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is Arizona’s only Double Board Certified Facial Cosmetic Surgeon. Dr. Tuggle and his wife Tonya both attended Abilene Christian University. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Oklahoma in 2005, then began specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. He served as Chief Resident and completed residency in 2009. He and his family located to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2009.
He is Double Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the New Mexico/ Arizona Dental Association. Dr. Tuggle offers a wide range of facial surgery services with a special interest in facial cosmetic surgery. A true “Girl Dad”, he and Tonya have 3 beautiful daughters. He is an avid pilot, tennis player, and the family is active in their local church, Calvary Chapel.

Jolene Punches is our Office Manager for our newest location in Phoenix. She has been in the aesthetics industry for 15 years. Jolene loves to learn about the newest advancements within the industry and enjoys educating patients as well. In addition, she is a certified freelance makeup artist. She has a passion for creating relationships with patients to help them look and feel their best. In her free time she enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and furbabies.
